General Update of the Department of Human Resources Activities and Issues.

The Human Resources Director reported that the Department of Human Resources has received a protest related to the H – 30 Captain examination administered over the weekend. The Department of Human Resources (DHR) is working with the Fire Department to remedy the situation and will be responding to the appeal.
Beginning Monday, November 27, 2006, JobAps will be available. In an effort to automate the civil service hiring process, DHR has selected a vendor that is one of the best in the country. By January, DHR plans to launch the automated on-line application and hiring system. By the end of the year, all hiring managers will be able to manage the hiring process by desktop.
He also announced that Alice Villagomez has been selected as the first civilian Human Resources
