Come join the fun!
The Bayview HEAL Zone invites organizations that support physical activity and/or healthy food at community events in 94124 to apply for a mini grant. Download the application (PDF).
HEAL stands for Healthy Eating Active Living, and the goal of the project is to help Bayview Hunters Point (BVHP) residents eat better and move more in places where they live, work, and play. The HEAL Zone will work with different organizations and businesses in the Bayview to help BVHP residents:
- Eat fewer calories;
- Eat more fruits and vegetables; and
- Get more active.
Offering free exercise classes and cooking demos, helping stores to offer more fresh fruits and vegetables, and creating safer walkways and places to play are some of the ways that the Bayview HEAL Zone will give BVHP residents more healthy options. Stay tuned for what’s going to happen in the Bayview HEAL Zone and be a part of the transformation as eating healthy and moving more become a vital part of living in BVHP.
