Shape Up SF PE Advocates brought Ken Dyar to San Francisco August 4, 2011, to kick off the start of our first ever PE Speaker Series, put on in part by our partner, Sports Basement. During Ken’s visit, we were fortunate to schedule an interview with Carol Kocivar, California PTA president, and host of KALW’s Looking at Education, that airs the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6pm, before the SFUSD Board of Education meetings. What follows is a transcript of the interview that was aired on 8/9/11.

John Ratey

Shape Up SF PE Advocates brought Dr. John Ratey to San Francisco August 10-11, 2011, to keynote a PE Forum at the school district and to present to a variety of audiences about how physical education and physical activity benefit the brain. During his visit, we were fortunate to schedule an interview with Carol Kocivar, California PTA president, and host of KALW’s Looking at Education, that airs the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6pm, before the SFUSD Board of Education meetings. The interview was aired on 8/23/11.

Darin Curtis

Shape Up SF PE Advocates brought Darin Curtis to San Francisco August 25, 2011, to conclude our first PE Speaker Series. Darin is the 2011 California Teacher of the Year, and a PE teacher at Tierra del Sol Middle School in San DIego. During his visit, we were fortunate to schedule an interview with Carol Kocivar, California PTA president and how of KALW's Looking at Education, that airs the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 PM, before the SFUSD Board of Education meetings. The interview was aired on 9/27/11.
